The Office of Research will host a pop-up workshop on one-page concept papers (sometimes called white papers) for faculty across all disciplines who are developing new research ideas, exploring funding opportunities, or preparing for future proposal submissions.
Participants will learn:
- Benefits of the concept paper as a “bite-sized pitch”
- How to use your concept paper for different audiences (they aren’t just for Program Officers!)
- How to tailor the concept paper to particular agencies or programs
- Storyline strategy for distilling a research idea into a concise, compelling concept
A strong concept paper can open doors to program officer conversations, strategic partnerships, and future proposal development. Regardless of agency or award size, this workshop will provide practical strategies for communicating your research vision effectively.
