The Office of Research will host a workshop designed to help faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and full-time research staff navigate the National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding landscape. This session will provide an overview of the NIH and its institutes, including institute missions, priorities, and funding mechanisms, and examine how these factors influence proposal development and long-term funding strategies.
Participants will also gain insight into the NIH peer review process and learn how to use publicly available NIH award and study section data to inform proposal planning and submission strategies. Whether you are preparing your first NIH application or looking to strengthen your NIH funding strategy, this workshop will provide practical tools to help position your research program for success.
Presenter
- Perry Kirkham, Coordinator of NIH Research Development at Purdue and former NIH Program Officer
