Virtual Earth Day Celebration: Prophetstown Indiana

This Earth Day Event introduces students, faculty, and staff to Prophetstown, Indiana, from a variety of cultural, ecological, and historical perspectives. Featured speakers and guests from Purdue University and the region will talk about the role American Indian and Native American Peoples have and do still play in stewarding and governing natural resources. Join us to learn about Tecumseh and his brother, The Prophet, and their integral role in shaping the region’s history and American Indian and Native American resistance and governance, watersheds and wetlands, the geology of the region, and the importance of recognizing the historical importance of indigenous knowledge systems.
