Why Tweet? A Faculty Conversation

Currently, Twitter has almost 400 million users. In the sub-space of “research Twitter” or “Academic Twitter,” the app can be particularly valuable to early career researchers as it facilitates direct conversations with peers, provides ways to receive information from funding agencies and organizations, and enables individuals to promote their own research and that of their lab.
It is also a place where one can ‘spend too much time’ or open oneself up to unasked for feedback or critique.
Via this virtual event, Center Managing Director Lynne Dahmen will present ways in which the Center has created tools and tricks to streamline engagement and three faculty active on Twitter will discuss ways in which they use the social media platform and engage with audience members about its pros and cons.
