Purdue’s Biodiversity Database Update and a conversation about ‘Governance and emerging standard and practices for data justice”

Join us for a conversation about Purdue’s First Biodiversity Database and to learn about Governance and emerging standards and practices for data justice.
Following the workshop that took place this past August to kick-start, the integration system and data acquisition has started. An update on this project will be provided outlining advances and opportunities for researchers to be involved.
This update will be complemented by invited speakers Drs. Zoe Nyssa & Ute Brady, (Arizona State University), who will be sharing their experience researching biodiversity data governance and the standards that are currently emerging to promote data justice. They will provide an overview of their current projects on the governance of open environmental data projects nationally and internationally and facilitate a discussion about adopting a data justice framework for projects like Purdue's first Biodiversity database
