ISF Weekly Newsletter: Upcoming RC Events and Meetings, Grant, Leadership, and Teaching Innovation Awards
November 30, 2022
Dear Colleagues - Welcome to the countdown! While classes and teaching enter into the final push, the Institute is maintaining and growing momentum as we reach out to advance research conversations and prepare for additional federal funding in the sustainability space. Check out upcoming meetings and events from our research communities below. Come hear about the research of John Mulrow (EEE), who will be speaking about claims of environmental efficiency at the Sustainable Communities RC meeting. Two faculty, Stephen Meyers (HLA) and Morgan Furze (BPP/FNR), will be presenting their research at the Environmental Stressors RC meeting. We would also love to see you at our last campus event for the season, a conversation about imagining more sustainable crop production with the #DiverseCornBelt team. The Great Lakes research initiative also has several virtual meetings on the books. This week, congrats to Alex Laskin (CHEM) on his recent successful grant on organic aerosols and to faculty affiliate Amanda Deering (FoodSci) on receiving the Leadership in Action Award. Also in the College of Ag, congrats to Laura Bowling (AGRY) for undergraduate teaching, Natalia Dudareva (Biochem) for mentoring, Mitch Tuinstra (AGRY) for work with undergraduates and Liz Flaherty (FNR) for teaching innovation. Further congratulations to affiliate Mark Wilson (HSCI) for his receipt of the Patsy J. Mellott teaching innovation award.
