Purdue University has been included on The Princeton Review’s “208 Guide to 399 Green Colleges.” Purdue was selected to the list due to having a formal sustainability committee, a sustainability-focused degree option, employing a sustainability officer, providing alternative transportation opportunities, such as a bike and car sharing programs, and free or reduced fares for public transportation, among other initiatives. “It seems like every year Purdue is boiling up new sustainability initiatives,” the report said. “All campus programs have one thing in mind—minimizing the university’s impact on the environment. … Grassroots initiatives are also sprouting up thanks to a proactive student body.” More information can be found here.
