ISF Looks for Poster Design for Campus Sustainability Event

    January 22, 2024

Over the last decade, universities have increasingly developed sustainability plans, sustainability or carbon targets and benchmarks as well as climate action plans. These plans have engaged various aspects of campus life ranging from campus education to reduction of greenhouse gases, from increasing research in sustainability or climate change to increasing rates of locally sourcing of food and connecting with local communities.

For this one-day networking workshop, the goal is to bring together campus thought leaders from around the state, including engaged faculty and students, as well as professionals in various aspects of the campus sustainability enterprise, to share ideas and develop networks.  The event will also provide opportunities for students and faculty at the West Lafayette campus to network with one another.

This workshop will feature keynote speaker Julie Newman, MIT’s Director of Sustainability. She has worked in the field of sustainable development and campus sustainability for twenty years. Her research has focused on the intersection between decision-making processes and organizational behavior in institutionalizing sustainability into higher education.

The event will also feature numerous lightning talks on campus innovations presented by speakers from multiple universities. In the afternoon, speakers from University of Oregon, Utah State University and Indiana University will speak on a hybrid panel about sustainability goals and the use of benchmarking and dashboards.

All of these events are free and open to the public.

Currently, the Institute is asking the campus student community to submit their ideas that will be incoporated into a promotional poster for the event.

Submit your design by 2/16 at the following link and you will be eligible for a prize up to $100 in value; have your design used to promote the event; and have it displayed during the event! Multiple prizes are available.
