Lei Wang (EAPS) and PhD student Valentina Castañeda have found a strong indicator for the prediction of heatwaves by using Rossby waves. Rossby waves are planetary-scale waves that naturally occur in the mid-latitudes due to the rotation of the Earth.

Linda Lee (AGRY), George (Zhi) Zhou (CE), and David Warsinger (ME) were featured in an article discussing Purdue University's role in the recently funded Great Lakes Water Innovation Engine (ReNEW) project in which they will work to develop and commercialize improved selective-separation technologies, the materials and processes for extruding forever chemicals, and other contaminants that are harmful to people and the environment.
