Training
Purdue researchers and staff working on sponsored or controlled projects are required to complete training based on their role and the nature of their work. The resources below cover both research security and export controls training requirements.
Research Security Training and Certification
Research security training is required for Purdue faculty, eligible PIs, staff, students and others involved in research-related activities. Training includes completion of Purdue’s research security program and certification confirming you are not participating in a malign foreign talent recruitment program — a requirement under the CHIPS and Science Act for anyone applying for NSF or DoD federal funding.
Export Controls and CUI Training
Export controls training is required for Purdue personnel working on controlled research projects, with specific courses determined by your role and project type. Training is available online through the CITI program and the Department of Defense, and in person through the RSEC team.
